Employment Equity Policy

The Board of HIGH CALIBRE SECURITY has taken a conscious decision to subscribe to the principle of employment equity, to correct imbalances in the composition of the company´s staff complement. It recognises that as a company it can only achieve its objective of growing wealth through a representative and competent workforce that is reflective of the society it serves.

Health & Safety Policy

High Calibre Security as an employer considers its employees to be its most valuable assets and undertakes to safeguard them through providing and maintaining, as far as reasonably practical, a working environment that is safe and without risk to the health of its employees and those of the client. In ensuring a safe and healthy working environment all employees of High Calibre Security have to work closely together with the employer and client in minimizing any risk that might jeopardize the health and safety of employees of the Client.

Sexual Harassment Policy

High Calibre Security has developed a policy which will provide a broad framework to sensitise against sexual harassment and manage cases if and when such an unacceptable practice occurs. From the outset it must be emphasised that any form of sexual harassment in the work environment and will not be tolerated.

The aim of this policy is to:

  • Create an environmental, which upholds personal integrity and freedom, and condemns any form of sexual harassment.
  • Discouraged and prevent sexual harassment in the work place.
  • Create a procedure to handle such cases.

Company House Rules

Each employee at High Calibre Security will be issued with a Company House Rules manual, after his/her induction into the company.
The house rules seeks to address issues of bad service employees have become accustomed to, at other companies. The house rules are drawn up along international standards and norms.

Smoking Policy

High Calibre Security is a responsible employer and public/ private service provider. Which is fully committed to implement practical policy measures, in line with the letter and spirit of the Act and the Notice. To provide guidelines to staff and management on the practical implementation of the Act and Notice so as to ensure compliance therewith.

Skills Development Programme

Additional training consisting of NQF level 1, 2, 3 and 4 is offered to all staff. 20 Keys which is an internationally developed training program based on world best practice, is implemented throughout the entire company. The above training is offered in addition to the standard PSIRA (Security Board) requirements.

Strike Contigency Plan

We have put in place a contingency plan to deal with any strike action. To ensure continuance of service and adherence to the Health & Safety Policy; A Strike Action Committee consisting of a Strike Action Leader, Communicator, Co-ordinator, Negotiator, Advisor, Local leader, Negotiation recorder and Translation. In the event of an unplanned strike, none unionised members will be on standby to affirm service to clients.

Operating Procedeurs

Each site will have its own Operating Procedure Manual outlining the specific site requirements. All security offices will be required to study the manual and sign an acknowledgement of understanding, before he/she is permitted to commence duty.
The Operating Procedure Manual conforms to PSIRA regulations and is not limited to, fire procedures, bomb threat procedures, arrest procedures, armed robbery procedure, industrial action procedure, health & safe etc.

Uniform Policy

No items of uniform or personal equipment except those laid down in these standards will be purchased, issued or worn.
No badge, or insignia bearing the company logo, will be produced, without the exact specifications being approved by the Managing Director.
All items of uniform and personnel equipment issued to guarding personnel will be in accordance with those items listed.

Service Level Agreement

Nature Of Relationship
The Service Provider shall at all times remain independent of the Client, and neither the Service Provider nor any employees or agents of the Service Provider shall be regarded as employees of the Client. Items which will form part of the SLA include;
